Turning a Hobby into a Career
My interest in design started long before I realised it could become a career. Growing up, I enjoyed editing photos and creating fan edits of my favourite idols. I also loved taking portrait photos of my family whenever I had the chance. What began as a simple hobby gradually became a passion for visual storytelling and creativity.
Coming from an accounting and business stream in secondary school, I wanted a course that combined both creativity and marketing. That’s what led me to pursue a Diploma in Advertising & Graphic Design at The One Academy Penang. It was the perfect opportunity to explore both fields while developing my skills as a designer.

Learning & Growing
Throughout my diploma, I became familiar with Adobe Creative Suite, including Adobe Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign and After Effects. More importantly, I learnt that good design is not just about making things look attractive—it is about communicating ideas and solving problems creatively.
Every project challenged me to think differently and helped me grow both creatively and professionally. Looking back, those experiences built the foundation for my career today.

Beginning My Career
After graduating, I joined Kode Digital as a Junior Graphic & Multimedia Designer. Working on real client projects has allowed me to understand the design process better and gain valuable industry experience.
One of the biggest discoveries I’ve made is my passion for social media design. I enjoy creating visuals that are both engaging and meaningful. During my time at Kode, I also had the opportunity to learn website design using Figma under the guidance of my senior, Miss Adlina, which has broadened my skills beyond graphic design.
Like every designer, I experience creative blocks from time to time. However, I see every challenge, revision and piece of feedback as an opportunity to improve. The design industry is constantly evolving, and I believe there is always something new to learn.

Looking Ahead
My goal is to continue growing as both a designer and a person. I hope to become more confident, strengthen my communication skills and eventually grow into a Senior Graphic Designer. More importantly, I want to create designs that not only look good but also leave a meaningful impact.
