Hi, I’m Jason!
For the past 12 years, I’ve maintained a consistent habit of reading at least 6 books a year, and my book collection, amassed over the years, could easily be one of the most valuable things I own. At the age of 18, armed with nothing but determination, I taught myself the basics of coding online. Although I was a beginner at best, I possessed enough skill to build something quick that people could use. That’s when I founded Sasek, a betting platform run by code, SMS, and spreadsheets. Initially a fun project to make some money, Sasek was acquired after just two months. Following that, I spent a couple of years exploring interests, working on projects, travelling, and meeting amazing people. What a wild ride!.
At 22, I co-founded My Forever Doggo, an NGO that became a major media entity when I turned 25. As a founding member, my goal was to showcase homeless dogs online, lead efforts to rehome them and raise awareness about dog homelessness. This earned my project the nickname “Tinder for Dogs” in the news. Our work gave many dogs a second chance at life and love.
During this time, I collaborated with people from all walks of life. There’s something indescribable about being surrounded by such a supportive community every day for an extended period.
My after work routine is almost always the same: workout, dinner, problem-solving hobby, and occasionally hangout with friends.
The Future Ahead
Looking ahead at KODE, working with a talented team feels like embarking on an epic quest for growth. Each project offers valuable opportunities for self-reflection and personal development. Being the go-to person for my team is both an honour and a responsibility; knowing that they trust me and that I’m in a position to support and help brings me a genuine sense of fulfilment. These experiences shape me into a better person and inspire me to be better for others every day.
There are many problems in this world, each waiting for someone to tackle them with passion and purpose. While I may not know precisely how I’ll apply my skills and knowledge in the future, one thing is certain: I’ll always be prepared to answer the call, ready to step up and make a positive impact wherever and whenever I’m needed. As my significant other likes to put it, “I don’t think you’ll ever retire, even after your retirement”. She may indeed be right. But really, who knows? I might just retire and focus on exploring the world since I haven’t been to most parts of the world.
When thinking about my future, I’m all about creating cool projects that can shake things up in the world, either by starting my own project or investing capital in those run by capable individuals. Right now, my focus is on levelling up as a project executive and being the best I can be for the people around me. Currently, I’m enjoying my work with KODE. I’m surrounded by good people, a cosy office with good music, and bosses who lean towards practicality and common sense (this one is crucial). And, of course, one of the most cherished aspects for me is having the flexibility to work from wherever suits me best on certain days, as long as I get the job done.
