The Islamic College of Technology International (KITAB) Penang offers various fields of study that focus on the basics of Al-Quran studies to produce Ulul Albab who are competitive and skilled in Islamic Studies, Contemporary Science, Ulum Al-Quran, Muamalat and Management Science.
Their Diploma Study Program is on par with other higher education institutions and is recognised by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA) and the Kementerian Pendidikan Tinggi (KPT).
Our Challenges & Goals
KITAB approached Kode Digital to design a dynamic, multi-lingual website that would serve as a platform for students, staff and prospective learners. Our primary goal was to create a user-friendly, visually engaging website that reflects KITAB’s mission while meeting the practical needs of its diverse audience. Secondary to this was creating an integrated management system to hand off administrative control to people at KITAB once the initial website framework was completed.
A key challenge was integrating essential features, including online registration, a dedicated portal for students and staff and an intuitive system for regular updates on academic information. The website also needed to ensure a seamless multi-lingual experience, catering to KITAB’s international audience while maintaining fast and reliable functionality.
Additionally, we aimed to enhance accessibility and user engagement by incorporating clear navigation, responsive design and optimised SEO to ensure that the website effectively reached its target audience.
How We Helped
Website Design & Development
Kode Digital collaborated with KITAB to create a comprehensive, user-friendly website tailored to the needs of a modern Islamic college. To ensure seamless navigation and accessibility, we incorporated a side navigation bar, providing quick access to key sections and features of the site.
We implemented a program registration system, allowing prospective students to explore and enrol in KITAB’s academic offerings easily. We developed dedicated Student and Staff Portals to support current students and staff. These portals include features such as the KITAB Integrated Management System (KIMS), a staff management system designed to digitise and streamline administrative processes like transportation applications (Kenderaan), leave application/approval, staff management and room booking.
Our team also integrated all the essentials of a university website, including responsive design, multi-language support, and intuitive navigation, ensuring the platform reflects KITAB’s commitment to educational excellence while enhancing the user experience for students, staff and visitors alike.
The Outcome
KITAB’s new website successfully meets their goals of establishing a comprehensive, multi-lingual platform that caters to students, staff, and prospective learners. By designing a modern, visually appealing and user-friendly layout, Kode Digital transformed KITAB’s online presence into a centralised hub for academic and institutional needs.
The website now seamlessly integrates essential university features, including program registration, student and staff portals and a side navigation bar that simplifies access to vital information. Furthermore, the inclusion of KIMS has significantly improved the efficiency of administrative processes, transitioning KITAB from traditional paper-based systems to a fully digital environment. This system empowers staff to handle tasks such as transportation applications, leave requests and room bookings with ease, while the dashboard enhances communication through features like Birthdays Calendar, On Leave status and Announcements.
Overall, KITAB’s website offers an enhanced user experience that aligns with their mission, effectively engaging and supporting their diverse audience while streamlining operations for their staff.
