Graphic & Collateral Design for An Environmental Protection Organisation

Making Penang cleaner, greener and safer.
In 2009, the Penang State Government established the Penang Green Council (PGC) to form a team that strives “to enable, empower, and enrich all stakeholders in practising sustainable development that protects the environment and quality of life.”
Since its inception, PGC has worked hard to uphold its founding purpose through innovating and facilitating creative green programmes for all ages and groups. These include partnering with corporations, training adult environmental educators, giving out well-known awards to outstanding environmentalists and sowing the seed of preserving the Earth in the hearts of our youth.

Our Challenges & Goals
As part of their ongoing mission to promote sustainable development and environmental protection in Penang, PGC chose to work with Kode Digital to produce various promotional materials in designs for different media (e.g. digital, print, sticker, etc.). This project was a brilliant opportunity to improve our range of visual styles and challenged our designs to attempt to design around the organisation’s existing themes and styles.
How We Helped
Graphic Design
Kode Digital contributed greatly to PGC’s initiatives in 2024, particularly their Penang International Green Conference & Exhibition (PGIGCE) 2024, creating the design for their digital posters, e-flyers and email signatures. Along with this, Kode Digital also provided a number of additional graphic designs, including for:
- Facebook page cover(s)
- Certificate designs
- Conference web banner
- Facebook ad designs
By creating a variety of designs to choose from, we allowed the client the freedom to dictate the direction of the design project while we worked around it in the ways we were familiar with. This allowed for a smooth flow of operations and ensured we could finish on time.
Collateral Design
In addition to the standard digital designs PGC requested, Kode was also tasked with a number of collateral designs made to suit several different display media, including:
- LED Screen artwork
- Digital backdrop(s)
- E-booklet
- Rapid bus full-body stickers
In particular, the project to design body stickers for the Rapid public transport buses was a welcome challenge for our designers. Drawing from our previous experiences, we were able to create and adjust designs that met the client’s standards within the time provided.
The Outcome
Through our collaboration with Penang Green Council (PGC), Kode Digital, as one of their appointed media partners, successfully delivered a range of vibrant and impactful digital and print designs that aligned with the organisation’s environmental mission and message. The designs enhanced the visibility of PGC’s initiatives, such as the Penang International Green Conference & Exhibition (PGIGCE) 2024, and maintained consistency with the government’s branding.
Our timely and creative solutions allowed PGC to effectively communicate their message across multiple platforms, contributing to their ongoing efforts to make Penang a cleaner, greener and safer place.
